ARMSTRONG
ARMSTRONG
After gaining a passion for DJing and electronic music at an early age, Armstrong soon found himself playing at one of Sydney’s most famous club nights Switched On at The Globe. He soon became a resident DJ playing alongside Groove Armada, Crazy P, Portishead and Faze Action to name a few. After honing his skills at The Globe, Armstrong was soon playing at Sydney’s biggest venues including a rotating residency on The Terrace at Home nightclub.
After a few years on the circuit, Armstrong left for Europe, playing at venues including The Underground and Café Mambo in Ibiza alongside Pete Tong and Bushwacka.

After returning to Sydney, Armstrong started working in the studio and the duo Stereo Thieves was born. Stereo Thieves played live shows at the Days Like This festival alongside Carl Craig, Gilles Peterson, Flying Lotus and Mark Pritchard. The duo also supported Fat Freddy’s Drop at their Sydney show at the iconic Sydney venue the Enmore Theatre.

After taking on a more left field house and melodic techno approach to his style, Armstrong decided a new challenge was in order. He moved to Tokyo where he built a studio and started writing new material. Since arriving in Japan, Armstrong ran a successful monthly night Neutral alongside some of Tokyo’s most talented DJs in Shibuya and plays regularly around Tokyo.

In 2019 Armstrong had his track ‘undercover’ released on Deeplomatic Recordings for their Deeplomatic Flavours Vol 5 compilation and in late 2020 will release his ‘SUMO’ EP which will feature remixes from two of Australia’s most celebrated producers Jamie Stevens and Jamie Lloyd plus from Spanish house don Alex Ferrer.
